My passion for photography started documenting travel with a point and shoot digital camera 13 years ago. I added a tripod to my kit to take night photos and I was hooked. Eventually moved up to a Canon DSLR which I fumbled with for ~5 years. I was not satisfied with my photos so the obvious choice was to get better glass.
The plan was to invest in the Canon L glass, however the size and weight were bugging me. At the time mirrorless cameras were gaining momentum and I stumbled upon the Fujifilm X-T1. Since travel was my primary focus I decided to jump head first into the Fujifilm world for a lighter more compact kit and avoid having to lug the much larger Canon lenses around.
The Fuji cameras physical controls are a throw back to their film predecessors and have changed my understanding of photography significantly. An added benefit with the smaller size is that I started taking photos everyday. I can honestly say I learned more in one year shooting with the Fuji X-T1 than I did in 5+ years with canon cameras... Anyways, I created this website to post my work and motivate myself to keep taking pictures. Aside from travel if I get good seats to a concert I will take my camera and photographing lightning is also pretty sweet.... I should probably take more pictures of people... I still have tonnes to learn.
I hope you see something you like.
